Workspace Basics: Toolbars

  • The toolbar is a vertical window, full of what seems like random icons located by default on the left side of the screen.
  • The group of icons at the top of the tools palette is the selections group: this tools allows to select part of your image.
  • The second group is the image editing and painting.
  • The third group is the vector group, contains tools that allow you to draw, select, and manipulate.
  • The fourth group is generalized (zoom, hand tool for navigation without affecting the position of layouts, camera rotate tool).
  • The fifth group of icons represent the foreground and background colors. You can change these colors by clicking inside either square, which will bring up the Color Picker to select a new color.
  • The last icon is the quick mask tool, which is for toggling back and forth between standard editing mode and quick mask mode.
