Part 1: Choose Your Challenge

1. Write down one area in your life where you’ve been struggling and where you’d like to see improvement.

2. Next, think of one challenge in that area that you can tackle today. Go ahead and do it. - I suggest starting with something small that you feel you can handle, but where you know you will struggle. - Here’s a quick example to help you pick a good challenge: Having difficult conversations is something that doesn’t come easily to me because I’m uncomfortable with disagreements. A good challenge in this area is speaking up in a conversation where I disagree and seeing the conversation through to the end. It’s hard, ( trust me, the struggle is real man) but I know that the more I practice the better I’ll get.

Part 2: How to Change Your Mindset

Most of us have a bit of both the fixed mindset and growth mindset. This means that at any given point you view challenges as either an opportunity to grow or as a chance to prove your abilities (and possibly fail).

One of the best ways to change your mindset is to learn to recognise what mindset you have a given moment and engage your two voices.

Carol, (the one and only Carol -  discoverer of the mindsets!) has 4 simple steps of how to do this. Go to this link and go through Steps 1-4  as you tackle on the challenge you set out for yourself.

Tip: We get better at facing fear and reframing failure through practice. Your brain needs time to reinforce those new neural pathways. So if it’s hard and you feel like it hurts to do it, you’re on the right path!
